Spanish Brandy
Fernández, Brandy de Jerez, Solera Gran Reserva
Gentle like valuable velvet, almost tender to the palate, matured with dignity - that's the way our marvellous matured brandy from southern Spain presents itself to real hedonists. Like producing of sherry our brandy is matured by the Solera-method, which is supervised by the "Cosejo Regulador de Jerez". Each step of work is qualitatively stipulated and is proofed by a seal. The brandy just like sherry is stored in cask rows (usually 4), one on top of the other.
The oldest and therefore most valuable brandy is stored in the bottom row. The younger brandy is matured in the rows above and will be transferred into the rows below with each cask rows. Transferring is also important - the spontaneous accumulation with oxygen increases the maturation positively. The Andalusians love their brandy neat with full wine flavour and not to cool.
A temperature of 18 degrees Celsius is regarded as ideal for this noble digestive, which is often served with coffee. The dark, mahogany-coloured liquid with its fantastic wealth of delicate scents is served almost reverently to develop its perfect taste. This brandy could barely be found in specialist shops; at IL GUSTO we love it!
